Yreka Trip
10/21/2003
Here are some pictures of Gary Evans' and my trip to Yreka. We had to do a few hours of work at the City of Yreka wastewater treatment plant. Gary is a private pilot, so we decided to save some time by flying up there. The plane was a Piper Archer that Gary rented from the West Valley Flying Club. The best part of the trip was that Gary let me fly the plane for over an hour on the way home! I got off to a shaky start, but got the hang of it after some great instructions from Gary and a little bit of practice. Click on any of the thumbnails for a full sized image. Enjoy!
An exterior shot of the plane. I got this image from the
West Valley Flying Club's website.
I regret not having taken at least one picture of the outside of the plane
myself.

The Elsbree-Hastings compound at 11100 and 11184 Eastside Rd. (Plus a few
neighbors. We don't own that much land!)
A shot of Lake Sonoma and Warm Springs Dam
First glimpse of Mt. Shasta on the Horizon. Upper Central Valley in the
foreground.

Past Lake Shasta, heading North toward Mt. Shasta
Typical rugged terrain North of Lake Shasta
Cool rock formation directly West of Mt. Shasta
Black Butte obscured by the propeller. It looks like a pile of gravel from the
air.
